Toyota kunngjør førertrio

Toyota har i dag offentliggjort hvem som skal kjøre deres Le Mans Prototyp i 2012. De går for tre erfarne førere.

Teamet er satt sammen av en østerriker, en franskmann og en japaner. Mest kjent for de fleste er nok Alexander Wurtz med 10 års erfaring fra Formel 1. De siste årene har han konsentrert seg om Le Mans-serien hvor han har oppnådd gode resultater for Peugeot.
Japanske Kazuki Nakajima har også erfaring fra Formel 1 etter tre år i Williams Team. I år har han konkurrert på hjemmebane i Formula Nippon og Super GT.
Det franske innslaget, Nicolas Lapierre har ikke kjørt Formel 1, men han har deltatt i GP2 og vunnet A1 Grand Prix for Team France. Dessuten har han noen års erfaring fra Le Mans Series.
Første test av Toyota hybrid-racer skjer på nyåret, og i mellomtiden skal førerne forberede seg maksimalt i Toyota Motorsports avanserte simulator i Köln.
